Fourth Dimension Jiu-Jitsu
A Brand Built on Depth, Discipline, and Intention
Designing a Modern Jiu Jitsu Identity That Balances Physical Movement and Mental Discipline
ArtVersion led the branding and visual identity development for Fourth Dimension Jiu Jitsu, creating a flexible system designed to perform across a wide range of applications. The engagement focused on establishing a distinctive logomark, a versatile logo system, a disciplined color palette with defined usage rules, and a typographic hierarchy that balances energy with restraint.
Beyond the Mat
From the logo and color palette to typography and brand applications, every element was designed to feel purposeful, adaptable, and refined—supporting growth while maintaining a strong, recognizable presence across digital, physical, and environmental touchpoints.
Logo Design
The identity for Fourth Dimension Jiu Jitsu is anchored by a custom logomark designed as a single, continuous form—one that intentionally merges the “4” and the “D” into a cohesive, dimensional symbol. This subtle integration reinforces the brand name while allowing the mark to feel abstract, fluid, and open to interpretation rather than overtly illustrative.
Inspired by the rhythm, momentum, and balance inherent in Jiu Jitsu, the mark captures a sense of motion and restraint working together. Its simplicity and structural integrity enable it to function as part of a broader logo system, ensuring clarity and consistency across digital platforms, apparel, signage, and in-gym environments.

Color Palette
The Fourth Dimension Jiu Jitsu color palette was developed as a balanced system. The primary colors establish the foundation of the brand, while supporting tints and shades add depth and flexibility across layouts, environments, and mediums. This range allows the brand to feel dynamic without becoming visually overwhelming, maintaining consistency while adapting to different contexts.
Accent colors were introduced to bring contrast and emphasis when needed, used intentionally to highlight key moments rather than compete with the core palette. Preferred color pairings further guide how colors interact across brand elements, ensuring combinations feel cohesive, legible, and unmistakably Fourth Dimension—whether applied digitally, in print, or within the physical gym space.
Color also plays a critical role in determining how the logo is applied. The primary navy logo is used on light backgrounds to maximize clarity and brand recognition, while alternate configurations allow the mark to adapt seamlessly to different environments

Typography
Typography plays a critical role in expressing the balance between energy and control at Fourth Dimension Jiu Jitsu. The system pairs Industry Ultra Italic and Menco Light to create a clear, purposeful hierarchy that supports both bold expression and everyday readability.
Industry Ultra Italic brings momentum and presence to the brand. Used for headlines, callouts, and key statements, its angular forms and forward-leaning posture reflect movement, intensity, and progression—echoing the physical rhythm of Jiu Jitsu itself.
In contrast, Menco Light introduces restraint and clarity. Its clean, modern structure provides an approachable counterbalance to Industry, making it ideal for supporting text, subheads, and longer content. Together, the two typefaces work in tension—one expressive and dynamic, the other refined and measured—creating a typographic system that feels confident, modern, and distinctly Fourth Dimension.
A Contemporary Brand System for a New Dimension of Jiu Jitsu Training
The resulting identity captures the essence of Jiu Jitsu as both a physical practice and a strategic discipline. Built from the ground up, the brand system was designed to establish a clear, intentional foundation—one that prioritizes adaptability, consistency, and longevity.
This approach gives Fourth Dimension the flexibility to grow and evolve while maintaining a cohesive presence across apparel, signage, digital platforms, and the gym environment, ensuring the brand remains grounded in its core philosophy from day one.
