Mission Driven & Human-Centered

Reframing public safety through clarity, trust and inclusive digital design.

Sensys Gatso USA partnered with ArtVersion to establish a dedicated U.S. digital presence centered on a clear and timely mission: Make Traffic Safer. While Sensys Gatso operates globally, this initiative required a distinct narrative—one that spoke directly to U.S. municipalities, transportation leaders, and the public with clarity, credibility, and trust.

The goal was not simply to launch a website, but to create a foundational platform that reframed the conversation around traffic safety—shifting perception from enforcement to education, data-driven insight, and community impact.

Design That Resonated Beyond the Screen

As the platform came together, the strength of the design system became even more evident. Each screen working together to deliver clarity, trust, and a modern visual voice for Sensys Gatso USA. The intentionality behind this approach did not go unnoticed. The Make Traffic Safer initiative received recognition from the Collision Awards in the Digital Communication – Advocacy & Causes category, honoring the project’s ability to translate a complex public safety mission into an accessible, user-centered digital experience. The award underscores the impact of thoughtful storytelling and design, and how a cohesive interface can help shape understanding across communities nationwide.

Building Trust Through Intentional Design

Traffic safety technology operates in a highly scrutinized and often misunderstood space. Public perception is frequently shaped by skepticism, incomplete information, or the assumption that enforcement is the primary goal—rather than prevention.

For Sensys Gatso USA, the challenge wasn’t simply to explain their technology, but to reframe the conversation entirely.

The Make Traffic Safer initiative needed to speak to multiple audiences at once: municipalities and transportation leaders seeking credibility and data-driven solutions, as well as the broader public looking for clarity, transparency, and reassurance. The experience had to balance authority with approachability, translating complex safety data into a narrative rooted in human impact and community well-being, while also providing a digital foundation capable of growing alongside future U.S. initiatives.

Data Visualization

Data played an important role in shaping the website experience, serving as a foundation for clarity rather than complexity. Through a consistent visual framework, traffic safety information is presented in a way that feels accessible and grounded—allowing audiences to engage with the data without losing its nuance. The result is an experience that upholds accuracy and credibility while reinforcing Sensys Gatso USA’s commitment to transparency, education, and informed public discourse.

Results

Following launch, Sensys Gatso USA engaged ArtVersion for a secondary phase focused on accessibility optimization and ADA conformance across their broader digital ecosystem.

This phase included targeted accessibility improvements within the ViewCitation platform—a centralized portal used by municipalities across the United States. Because the platform is shared nationally, any enhancements required careful consideration, as changes directly impact all participating cities.

In addition to platform-level updates, ArtVersion remediated a series of InDesign-based PDF documents to meet ADA accessibility standards. This ensured that both the digital experience and supporting materials aligned with best practices for inclusive access.
