    Sleek, Authoritative Design

JETRO or The Japan External Trade Organization, partnered with ArtVersion to modernize its collateral materials by creating both print and digitally accessible reports.

As a government-related trade organization that promotes mutual trade and investment between Japan and the world, it was imperative for the report designs to not only evoke a professional design but also be accessible to all audiences around the world. ArtVersion worked with the organization to create a set of print and digitally accessible reports for global audiences, rich with innovative design, and important key content findings.

    Print Design and Visual Communications

ArtVersion tailored a contemporary and polished design for JETRO's reports, focusing on corporate and external communication needs.

Their approach integrated solid colors and neutral tones to create a professional and engaging aesthetic. The graphic design team enriched the content-heavy reports with custom infographics and visual aids, incorporating circular motifs and bold headings for enhanced visual interest. ArtVersion also structured a visual hierarchy and a contextual methodology in the layout, certifying the design’s messaging was communicated. Strategically, ArtVersion also coordinated each report for printing, paying close attention to dimensions and die-lines to meet precise print requirements.

    Interactive Digital Report

Access to information from the report was an important touchstone for JETRO, therefore ArtVersion developed a digital rendition.

The digital iteration preserved the design integrity and structure of the print versions while introducing dynamic elements to enhance user interaction. Graphics and infographic elements within the reports were given subtle movements and animations, transforming static information into a more immersive and engaging experience. This encouraged more user engagement and provided a new pathway to user reach with mobile responsiveness and downloadable content as well.

    Color Selections

For each report, ArtVersion utilized a consistent color palette that aligned with Jetro’s design language, while introducing a new, sleek design look. The color palette was designed to evoke a both professional and accessible style, reflecting the serious and public service nature of a government-trade organization. Each of the chosen shades offered a balanced mix of warmth, neutrality, and trust. The color story also supported a range of visual data presentations while maintaining an official look and feel appropriate for a government-trade organization's reporting.

    Typography

The report designs were a combination of Beni typography and Inter. Beni was a perfect choice for bold titles and callouts that added a unique visual element, while still aligning with a professional feel. Inter was also utilized perfectly for larger bodies of text and paragraphs for readability.

The modernized report designs, along with the digital versions of each, elevated JETRO’s presentation of trade and investment insights by significantly enhancing the engagement of their reports on a global scale. The outcome intersected style, functionality, and user engagement for government trade organization reporting.
