On April 2, 2024, the Webby Awards announced the 2024 nominations and honorees for the 28th Annual Webby Awards. ArtVersion’s work with the Virginia A. Groot FoundationArt Is Everywhere website received three renowned recognitions:

Webby Nomination for the Website and Mobile Site—Cultural Blog/Website category

Webby Honors for Websites and Mobile Sites—Best Home Page category

Webby Honors for Website and Mobile Sites—Cultural Institutions category

The recognitions were on behalf of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences and were a milestone for both the ArtVersion and Groot team. The website was distinguished as one of the five best in the world in its category and placed it in the elite 12% of over 13,000 entries submitted.

The nominations are a significant achievement within the competition as nominees and honorees are part of two prestigious competitive stages: The Webby Awards—contestants selected by the Academy—and The Webby’s People’s Voice Award, determined by public vote. Both, however mark excellence in innovation and creativity.

“We are deeply honored to receive recognition from The Webby’s. Designing and developing the website was an extraordinary privilege. Immersing ourselves in the rich stories and histories of each artwork in Candice’s collection, which we had the opportunity to archive digitally, was an incredibly moving experience for our team. Our sincere hope is that users will be able to engage with her art collection from anywhere in the world,” says Goran Paun, ArtVersion’s Principal and Creative Director.

“Art Is Everywhere” was designed as a tribute to Candice B. Groot, a beloved artist, collector, and the visionary behind the Virginia A. Groot Foundation. ArtVersion, in partnership with the foundation, carefully curated a digital archive, showcasing her vast collection. The website was created to exist as a virtual exhibition and a biographical narrative which offered an immersive and user-friendly experience. This website marked by its immersive and intuitive experience, has now garnered acclaim from Webby’s.

“Nominees like Art Is Everywhere are setting the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet,” said Nick Borenstein, General Manager of The Webby Awards. “It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the nearly 13,000 entries we received this year.”

As a nominee, the Art Is Everywhere website is also eligible to win a Webby People’s Voice Award, which is voted online by audiences across the globe. From now until April 18th, users can cast their votes at vote.webbyawards.com
