How the Work Develops

ArtVersion brings research, strategy, creative, and technology together across branding, websites, interfaces, graphic design, and content. The work may begin with a single assignment or involve several teams, platforms, and audiences. We shape the engagement around what the organization needs to accomplish. The process follows the project. Research, planning, design, and production often overlap, and we return to earlier decisions when testing reveals something new. The same thinking applies to a brand system, a website, an interface, or print and marketing  collateral.

Service Areas

User research, audits, testing, and analysis help us understand the current experience and make better decisions about what comes next. Brand, digital, experience, and content strategy bring the important decisions into focus before the work moves into design and production. Art direction, identity, design systems, interfaces, and graphic design give the work a consistent character across digital, print, and physical settings. Engineering, platforms, and integrations turn the design into a working experience that people can use and internal teams can manage.

Digital Transformations

We help organizations modernize the websites, content systems, and digital workflows that no longer fit how they operate, bringing strategy, experience design, and technology decisions together around a practical plan.w

CMS and Platform Migrations

Carefully planned migrations that move content, workflows, integrations, and SEO equity to a stronger platform without losing the structure or functionality teams rely on.

Enterprise Web Solutions

Large-scale digital experiences designed for complex organizations, multiple stakeholders, distributed publishing teams, governance requirements, accessibility, and long-term growth.

Accessibility

Accessibility across research, design, and development, with WCAG-informed standards, manual testing, assistive technology review, and remediation built into the experience.

AI, AEO, GEO

Strategy and implementation for AI-driven discovery, answer engines, and generative search, helping content stay structured, relevant, authoritative, and easier for new systems to understand.

Rebranding

We help organizations rethink how they present themselves when their business, audience, or position has changed, connecting research and strategy with identity, messaging, and the materials that carry the brand.

Content

Content starts with strategy and moves through the entire experience, from audience and voice to design, structure, delivery, and measurement.

Design Language

Typography, color, imagery, composition, and interaction patterns developed as a related system, giving teams a recognizable visual language they can apply consistently across websites, interfaces, print, and other communications.

Trusted at Scale

We work with brands and organizations that touch millions of lives. Our work spans complex digital platforms, brand systems, and experiences built to perform at scale, with outcomes measured in reach, engagement, usability, and long-term value.

We Design Experiences®

Since 1999

Connected to the Platforms, People and Standards

Platform Partnerships

The right platform depends on the organization, the team managing it, and what the experience needs to do. ArtVersion works across WordPress VIP, Acquia, Adobe, Shopify, BigCommerce, HubSpot, Webflow, Framer, and other ecosystems. That range helps us stay platform-agnostic and recommend technology around the project rather than force the project around a preferred platform.

Active in the Industry

Our team takes part in the wider design, technology, and business communities through the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), Forbes Agency Council, Inc. Leadership Forum, and Fast Company Executive Board. Members of our team contribute articles, serve on judging panels, and share perspectives shaped by the work.

Recognized for the Work

ArtVersion’s work has received Webby recognition across multiple years, w3 awards, and recognition from Clutch. Inc. has recognized ArtVersion as a Power Partner and named the agency Best Overall in its guide to logo design and creative services.

Long-Term Relationships

Some of our strongest work comes from relationships that continue well beyond a single launch. ArtVersion has served as an agency of record and long-term creative partner for Fortune-level organizations, supporting brand evolution, digital platforms, new initiatives, and ongoing experience work as needs change over time.

FAQs

ArtVersion is an independent creative agency and design consultancy founded in Chicago in 1999. We work across branding, websites, interfaces, and graphic design, with research, strategy, creative, and technology working together. Projects are handled by focused teams, and the same people who open discovery stay involved throughout the work. No handoffs, no silos, no outsourcing. That approach has carried across projects for startups, nonprofits, enterprise teams, and Fortune-level organizations.

A lot of the work starts when something is changing. It might be a rebrand, a new website, a product interface, a platform that has become difficult to manage, or a visual system that needs to work across digital, print, and physical touchpoints. The common thread is usually the same: making the brand and experience clearer, more consistent, and easier to use wherever people encounter it.

Many long-term relationships begin with one clearly defined project, but they do not have to grow beyond that. We regularly take on focused engagements such as report design, brand systems, websites, interface work, platform builds, logo design, and other specific assignments. The scope follows what needs to be solved rather than a preset engagement model. If the work later leads to another phase, ongoing support, measurement, or a broader system, we can continue from there, but the project does not need to start that way.

We tend to work best with teams that need design, brand, and technology to come together in one place. That often means marketing, product, IT, and leadership all have a stake in the outcome. The strongest fit is usually work that needs to keep performing after launch, whether that is a brand system, a website, or an interface other teams will continue to use and maintain.
Both are part of how we work. Design gives the experience form and clarity, while technology determines how well that experience performs, scales, and holds up over time. Research and strategy connect the two, so the work is not designed in isolation and handed over to be figured out later. Some projects lean more heavily toward one side, but the thinking stays connected throughout.
Start with the problem that needs to move. If the current experience is unclear, research can establish where things stand. If the direction is the issue, strategy comes first. If the direction is already set, creative or technology may be the right starting point. You do not need to know which category it belongs in before reaching out.
It's the creativity that sets them apart from all other vendors we work with. You are going to walk away with a digital product that you'll be happy with.
