HTML5 was first released to the public in 2008. It’s the latest and to date most capable of all HTML versions. HTML5 programing language is maintained by the Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group (WHATWG), a consortium of the major browser vendors: Apple, Google, Mozilla, and Microsoft.
